About us
This business has recently been taken over by John and Steve in June 2022. John is also the owner of West Bay Canoes West Bay Canoes – A Passion for Paddle Sports, which runs on the same river involving guided tours up to the Brewery in Bridport. The previous owner, ran the business for 42 years, the boats were all handmade by him. He is now enjoying a well earned retirement in Tenerife, leaving the business in our hands.
West Bay River Boats
Come to West Bay to enjoy a lovely row up the River Brit. The river is very calm and peaceful, meet some ducks along the way and wave at the campers in the campsite as you pass by. Life jackets are provided if you'd like one, we have adult sizes and children sizes. Dogs are welcome too. The boat capacity is 350kg, or in simple terms, 2-3 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children. There is no booking needed, just turn up on the day.
The Owners
Steve (left) and John (right) are now the owners as of June 2022. John has been canoeing up the river for the last 10 years, Steve joined him 3 years ago. When the chance to purchase the river boat business arose, they both agreed it was an oar-some opportunity!
